— We did it again! We had a great board and membership meeting
last Sunday at the Quesada residence in Walnut Creek. The meeting was
short but meaningful because of future activities that were mapped out to make the alumni association cohesive again. As usual, the food was to die for, courtesy of pot lucks from the attending members
and also a couple of prospective new members. Also, those present were treated to an international wine tasting courtesy of our
resident wine expert, Julie Zarate-Hudson, who was ably assisted by
Marivi Perez. Thanks a million for that great wine tasting experience and the great wine tips too! It
was nice tasting so many wines…from Germany’s Riesling to Australia’s Shiraz, to Italy’s Chianti and to France’s Bordeaux…and discovering our very own Pinay wine too!…Congratulations to Madame
Edna Victorino for winning the raffle prize – a wine gift basket courtesy of Julie Hudson plus a personal wine tour in Coppola winery. We raised $80 from the raffle—just like that!

Thank you to our gracious hosts Primo & Evangeline Quesada…we couldnt have asked for a better setting to hold our September meeting!
And thank you for allowing us to serenade Vangie on the occasion of her (secret)
birthday!
Save the date for our next board & general membership meeting on Nov 14 at the Utleg
residence. Don’t forget to turn in your nominations ASAP to Romi Beza, Chair of Nominating Committee, in time for our
Nov. 14 Thanksgiving Get Together and Election as well. Let me know if
you want to join us in the Sunset Cruise this October in Tiburon or visit the French Impressionist paintings in De Young Museum in San Francisco. Here’s looking forward to more “fun” fundraising activities next year — Treasure Hunt Walking Tour of San Francisco and Chinatown and possibly a theatrical project in the works in Spring of 2011!
