Casino Fundraiser A Success!

Event organizer Edna Victorino (left in blue jacket/red blouse) along with alumni and friends enjoyed the sumptuous lunch buffet featuring lobsters and Alaskan King Crabs that Jackson Rancheria Casino is famous for.

The year’s first casino fun and fundraiser last June 8 was a rousing success thanks to the leadership of chapter founder Edna Victorino! Edna was ably assisted by volunteer work and/or donation by chapter officers Alexis Zulueta, Ceny Duldulao, Evelyn Balancio, Henrie Fajardo-Boyd, Vangie Quesada-Poe, Jay Castro and Romi Beza in ensuring an enjoyable event that alumni and their friends that filled-up the 59-seat bus capacity.

The casino goers started off their 8:30am trip to Jackson Rancheria Casino with a pre-packed hearty breakfast (garlic rice/scrambled egg/longaniza/juice/cookies/assorted nuts/chips/fruits). Before long, Jay Castro rolled out several bingo games to keep the eager riders busy during the 2-hour ride to the casino. The 59 riders were also treated to a free raffle where several donated gifts were given away. All that for $35 package ticket that included $20 free casino play! Indeed, many were already winners even before they disembarked at the casino!

The trip back to the Bay Area was uneventful albeit safe. At the end, one alumnus was honest enough to admit winning a modest sum. But all agreed it was a fun outing! Not only that, the chapter was able to raise a modest 4-figure sum for its charity projects. Not bad for a relaxing and fun-filled day! Not bad at all!

Thank you all for participating!
